Description

This course is offered only to staff of preschools receiving support from STaR via the Sector Capacity Building Program component of the NSW DoE Disability and Inclusion Program. The preschool that you work for must be receiving support from STaR under this program in order for you to register for this course.

This face-to-face course presents information about the NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention Approach and how it may relate to children that you are working with in your preschool setting. Practical suggestions for how to have sensitive conversations with parents regarding a child that you believe would benefit from the Early Childhood Early Intervention Approach and also how to work with providers of NDIS supports within your setting will be offered.

Potential benefits of and challenges related to the delivery of NDIS supports within the preschool will be discussed and you will be guided through the process of developing a Working Together Agreement for coordinated, inclusive supports. In this interactive workshop you will also be supported to develop relevant policies and procedures to support collaborative work with visiting professionals.
